Piglet came down after bedtime last night with this complaint:
"The cat keeps following me wherever I'm going."
"Where are you going? You're supposed to be in bed!"
"Um. Whenever I go to get a drink of water."
Tigger: "How many drinks of water have you gotten? You've only been in bed 20 minutes!"
Piglet: "Four."
Okay then.
And my friends, today I discovered soy milk*. I know that sounds stupid, but I have always avoided "milk" that comes from beans. Of course, since I'm lactose intolerant, I pretty much avoid milk that comes from mammals too.
So now I just have to figure out how to make it an "essential" item. Seeing as I haven't been a milk drinker since I was a kid, it's hard to convince hubby that this new invention is something I MUST HAVE.
*I purchased it about a month ago and left it in the pantry. I did not just buy the milk.
We’re not going anywhere.

I hope it's vanilla soy milk, as that makes all the difference. I can't stand plain. But vanilla? I can do it on cereal...any soy milk is really good steamed and, say, in a chai.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry, was this about your thirsty son and how the cat is stalking him (probably wants to eat him)?
Hm! I'll be interested to hear what you think of the soy milk. In a brief flirtation with healthier eating, I tried soy milk and almond milk. Neither one was my cup of tea (so to speak) but lots of folks swear by it! I went crawling back to Chateau Moo.
ReplyDelete(I drink skim milk anyway, and I love those "fake chicken" nuggets and "fake meat" burgers that are also soy-based so...I don't know why I just couldn't get into the milk.)
My daughter wakes me up sometimes and goes right back to sleep, while I lie there for the next 2hrs, I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteI like your blog! Found you through Mo.Stoneskin.

ReplyDeletegive the cat a sedative before bed time and your son will cease to get up. it's probably one of those strange X-Files like happenings. lol!
ReplyDeletewhen you start spending money again, i recommend RICE DREAM. find a version of it that you like, if you like. it's much better for you than soy products. i like the taste and texture better in RICE DREAM rice milk. other rice milk types aren't bad either.

If I had four drinks every twenty minutes, and was chased by a cat each time I bet I would
ReplyDeleteA) end up very very tired
B) be kicked out for *ahem* wetting the bed every night
I have never been one for milk, but I love soy milk (chocolate in particular, but vanilla will do). I got hooked when I was pregnant with the kids and needed the calcium and protein. I switched the kids to it when we got back to the US! Do they sell it in Poland or at the commissary and, if so, how did you get your hands on it - thought you weren't allowed in the commissary until April!
ReplyDeleteMy cat loves to follow me to the bathroom. Always. Every blessed time. Your son is doomed to be stalked if he keeps drinking so much.
ReplyDeletei'm lactose intolerant, too!!! high five.
ReplyDeletei love cereal. do they make lactose free milk where you are? it's the best.
also, lactaid pills. if you can't get them there, i will totally (for reals this time, not like our mario kart challenge) mail them to you.
That cat's just messing with his mind.
ReplyDeleteI wish I liekd soy milk. I truly want to because it's so good for you. But the only kind I can drink is the chocolate, and even that I don't really like much.
