Good With The Ladies

Seth's best friend, we'll call him Mike, saw me after school the day I got my hair cut (well actually he sees me every day - but that's really not important to the story).

Mike: I like your hair!

Me: Thanks!

Mike: Oh, I thought you were Seth's sister!

Me: Oh, thank you. That's so sweet!

Yeah, Mike is good with the ladies. And he's in Kindergarten.

His parents are screwed.

My son, on the other hand, mentioned it hours later.

When I asked him.

Then he said, "Yeah, it looks good."

I think I'm going to be okay. My boys suck with the ladies. Like their father. Which is probably the only reason he's married to me.

And now it's decided that I will definitely smuggle Ela with me. I have hair that apparently makes me look thin and young. Yeah, she's totally coming with me.

  1. Gotta teach that kid to call them 'lay-dees' and get him some cards to hand out to them.

I am sending a pic of me to him, tell him to tell me I don't look old enough to have teenagers K?

  2. Maybe when I've been living in NYC too long, but when a kindergardener compliments my hair (which by the way, is like, never), "good with the ladies" isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

  3. When I got my hair cut, a little fella in my class said, "It looks good Mrs. Patrick. You look just like my grandma."

    yeah. His grandma.

  5. Kelley - He would say that even without prodding. You're younger than his mom and he's the oldest child:).

Marinka - I blame/give credit to his mother. I actually talked with his nanny, who is a great friend of mine, and she told me he does the same thing to her when she colors her hair. Which she only does so her roots don't show. But he notices.

Vodka Mom - Oh, that sucks.

Lisa - I thought the same thing. He's a little Eddie Haskell. I love the kid though.
