Random Holes

Have you ever seen the movie (or read the book) Holes by Louis Sachar?

Sometimes I feel like I'm living it.

  1. I haven't read the book but I enjoyed reading the wikipedia page - sounds interesting!

Now...are you just thinking about the abundance of pothles, or do you feel like perpetual bad luck has landed you in a desolate place doing repetitive labor that is supposed to build character? (If it isn't the latter and I just depressed you with that interpretation...sorry!) :-)

  2. M - I love your interpretation! But actually it was much more simple. I seem t come upon random holes dug in the streets here. They're not potholes (although we have our fair share of those too). It's just that sometimes the city works come out and dig a random hole, where there wasn't one 4 hours ago. And you should totally read the book.

  3. You shouldn't leave your car in the road like that, it is a hazard.

  4. If they are emmulating "Holes" then you need to start digging holes too!! I mean I am sure you could have a use for a buried treasure, too.

  7. My kids both read it, but I only saw the movie. At any rate, I feel your pain:

  8. Sachar once came to Duluth but disappeared on the road that runs by my house. I can't even believe my house still stands, as a matter of fact, and hasn't been sucked in.

Btw, have your kids read SIDEWAYS TALES FROM WAYSIDE SCHOOL by Sachar?
